The docket below introduced a different approach to recording the fact that a delivery docket had been left for a recipient. If no-one had been in attendance, the telegram was brought back to the Telegraph Office rather than being left in the letter-box (or under a door).
It is a book from which a docket could be torn but a record was recorded on the stub which was retained in bound form.

Intact book of 25 dockets (only the first has been used) showing the complete docket and stub.
The docket would be left at the address and the stub was the Telegraph Office receipt of the action.
The front and rear covers are blank.
There are notes for the Messenger on the inside front cover.
Characteristics:
- sentence above box spans two lines only;
- line next to schedule number at base has 5 words begining "Strike out ...".
