Telegram sent to Graham Eadie who was fullback in the first test against New Zealand on 24 June 1978. It was his only Test in the 3 match Series.
As is the custom, Australia beat New Zealand 24 - 2 and took the three-match Series 3-0.

In 1978, the Grand Final played on 16 September between Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and Cronulla Sutherland Sharks was drawn at 11 all. Eadie played at Full Back for the Sea Eagles.

The Grand Final Replay was held on 19 September when Manly won 16 - 0. Eadie scored 2 tries and kicked 3 from 8 attempts at goal plus a field goal.
